Letter C

शब्द में अक्षर 'c' अनुच्चरित रहता है जब :-

जब 'c' शब्द में अक्षर 's' के तुरंत बाद आता है (संयुक्त रूप 'sc') जैसे 'science' में।
अक्षर 'c' सामान्यतः अक्षर 'k व q' से पहले आने पर भी अनुच्चरित रहता है जैसे 'black' और 'racquet' में।

Letter 'c' remains sound-less when:-

When 'c' comes immediately after 's' as 'sc' in a word, like in 'science'.
Letter 'c' also remains silent when it comes before alphabets 'k & q'. Like in 'black' and 'racquet' .

* ध्यान दीजिए 'sceptic and scleroid' संयुक्त रूप 'sc' के अपवाद हैं।

* Please note that 'sceptic and scleroid' are the exception of combination 'sc'.

Letter D

इन शब्दों में अक्षर 'd' अनुच्चरित है। अक्षर 'd' बहुत सारे आम शब्दों जैसे 'Wednesday' में चुप है, इसके लिए कोई नियम नहीं हैं। बोली जाने वाली भाषा में समय के साथ कुछ शब्दों को जब तेजी से बोला गया उसने साइलेंट अक्षरों को जन्म दिया।

अक्षर 'd' साइलेंट रहता है जब 'g' ko 'dg' बना दिया जाता है, यहां भी 'd' साइलेंट रहता है, जैसे 'hedge' में। Sandwich शब्द का उच्चारण 'd' के साथ भी होता है और बिना 'd' के भी।

Letter 'd' is silent in a lot of common words like 'Wednesday' , there are no set rules for it. With the passage of time in spoken language some words when spoken fast gave birth to silent letters.

Letter 'd' also remains silent when it is followed by a 'g' making it 'dg', here too 'd' remains silent, like in 'hedge'. Sandwich is pronounced with or without letter 'd'.

For centuries now, we have evolved and changed the pronunciations of thousands of words, while retaining most of the spellings giving rise to silent words. It is fun to imagine and speak the words with silent letters, with the original sounds, try speaking 'knight' with a 'ka' sound.
