Different use of Will/Shall
आम तौर पर सरल भविष्य के वाक्यों में हम 'Shall' का प्रयोग 1st-Person 'I और We' और 'Will' का प्रयोग अन्य सभी के साथ करते हैं। जब हमें अपनी प्रतिबद्धता व्यक्त करनी हो या किसी को चेतावनी देनी हो या किसी चीज पर जोर देना हो, तो 'Will/Shall' का उपयोग उल्टा हो जाता है। ऐसे वाक्यों में हम 'Will' का प्रयोग 1st-Person 'I और We' के साथ करते हैं और 'Shall' का उपयोग अन्य सभी के साथ करते हैं।
Generally in simple future sentences we use 'Shall' with 1st-Person 'I and We' and 'Will' with all others. When we are to express our commitment or warn someone or emphasize something, the use of 'will/shall' is reversed. In such sentences, we use 'Will' with 1st-Person 'I and We' and 'Shall' with all others.
Look at the examples:
| आप धूम्रपान नहीं करेंगे। (सलाह) | You shall not smoke. (Advice) |
| मैं यह कार खरीदूंगा। (दृढ़ निश्चय) | I will buy this car. (Determination) |
| वह पढ़ाई के लिए विदेश जाएगी। (दृढ़ निश्चय) | She shall go abroad to study. (Determination) |
| हम दोषियों को सजा देंगे। (वादा) | We will punish the guilty. (Promise) |
| पुलिस 24 घंटे के भीतर चोर को पकड़ लेगी। (दृढ़ विश्वास) | The police shall catch the thief within 24 hours. (strong belief) |
| आप मेरे निर्देशों का उल्लंघन नहीं करेंगे। (आदेश) | You shall not violate my instructions. (order) |
Note उपरोक्त वर्णित 'Will/Shall' का उपयोग किताबी है। आजकल, अनौपचारिक बोली जाने वाली भाषा में 'विल' का प्रयोग लगभग हर जगह होता है। इस वेबसाइट में भी, हमने 'Will/Shall' के किताबी प्रयोग पर ध्यान नहीं दिया है।
The above mentioned use of 'Will/Shall' is bookish. Nowadays, 'Will' is used almost everywhere in informal spoken language. In this website also, we have not focussed on the bookish use of 'Will/Shall'.
