Rule of Present Continuous Tense - Positive

Type of Sentence	Rule

Use of Is/Am/Are

Helping Verb	Subject
Is	He, She, It, This, That, Kapil, Lion, book, all 3rd person singular subjects.
Are	We, You, They, These, Those, Girls, Cats, all 3rd person plural subjects.
Am	'Am' is used only with 'I' - 1st person singular.

Look at these sentences:

वह पत्र लिख रही है।	She is writing a letter.
मैं रविवार को काम कर रहा हूँ।	I am working on Sunday.
वह दौड़ रही है।	She is running.
वे झगड़ा कर रहे हैं।	They are quarrelling.
हम चर्चा कर रहे हैं।	We are discussing.
तुम हँस रहे हो।	You are laughing.
अनय एक किताब पढ़ रहा है।	Anay is reading a book.
शिखा अपने भाई के साथ बात कर रही है।	Shikha is chatting with her brother.
रिजु सभी बड़ों को सम्मान दे रहा है।	Riju is giving due respect to all elders.
वह अपनी आयकर रिटर्न खुद दाखिल कर रहा है।	He is filing his income tax return himself.

Rule of 'ing'

Rule One: जब किसी वर्ब का अंतिम अक्षर व्यंजन होता है और व्यंजन से पहले, एक स्वर आता है, तो हम अंतिम व्यंजन को दोगुना करते हैं और फिर 'ing' जोड़ते हैं।	When the last letter of a verb is a consonant and a vowel comes before that consonant, we double the last consonant and then add 'ing'.	Dig - Digging, Run - Running, Swim - Swimming
Rule Two: जब किसी वर्ब के अंतिम अक्षर से पहले एक से अधिक स्वर आते हैं, तो हम बस अंतिम अक्षर के साथ 'ing' जोड़ते हैं।	When more than one vowel comes before the last letter of a verb, we simply add 'ing' with the last letter.	Lead - Leading, Cheat - Cheating, Meet - Meeting
Rule Three: जब किसी क्रिया का अंतिम अक्षर x, y या w हो और इससे पहले एक स्वर आए, तब भी हम अंतिम अक्षर के साथ केवल 'ing' जोड़ते हैं।	When the last letter of a verb is x, y or w and a vowel precedes it, then also we simply add 'ing' to the last letter.	Play - Playing, Box - Boxing, Draw - Drawing
Rule Four: जब एक क्रिया का अंतिम वर्णमाला 'ई' होता है, तो हम 'e' को काटकर 'ing' जोड़ते हैं।	When the last alphabet of a verb is 'e', we cut 'e' and add 'Ing'.	Write - Writing, Rise - Rising, Fire - Firing
Rule Five: उपरोक्त सभी नियम लगभग 95% पर लागू होते हैं। आपको 5% अपवाद क्रिया की अपनी डायरी में एक सूची बनानी चाहिए, जिस पर ये नियम लागू नहीं होते हैं।	All the above rules apply to about 95%. You should make a list in your diary of the 5% exception verbs to which these rules do not apply.	Open - Opening, Dye - Dyeing, Lie - Lying
