Gerund Phrase
'Gerund Phrase' को समझने के लिए, आइए जानते हैं मॉडिफायर्स और कॉम्प्लीमेंट्स के बारे में:
Modifiers वे शब्द जो अन्य शब्दों को संशोधित या वर्णन करते हैं, उन्हें संशोधक कहा जाता है।
Complements पूरक है जैसे प्रत्यक्ष ऑब्जेक्ट जो वर्ब के अर्थ को पूर्ण करता है
To understand 'Gerund Phrase', let's know about Modifiers and Compliments:
Modifiers Words that modify or describe other words are called modifiers.
Complements Complements are things like direct object which complete the meaning of the verb
Gerund क्रिया का एक रूप है जो संज्ञा के रूप में कार्य करता है जबकि Gerund Phrase एक Gerund है जिसमें संशोधक या पूरक एक साथ मिलकर संज्ञा की तरह कार्य करते हैं।
A gerund is a form of the verb that acts as a Noun while Gerund Phrase is a Gerund in which Modifiers or Complements act together as a Noun.
Look at the following examples:
| सर्दी के मौसम में आइस क्रीम खाना उचित नही है। | Eating ice cream in the winter season is not advisable. |
| बॅाथ टब में बुलबुले उड़ाना एक मजेदार क्रिया है। | Blowing bubbles in a bath-tub is a fun activity. |
| उस लड़की को इशारा करने वाला लड़का उसका भाई है। | The boy signalling to that girl is her brother. |
| वह लम्बी दूरी दौड़ना पसंद करती है। | She enjoys running long distances. |
| स्टांप संग्रह करना उसका मनपसंद शौक है। | Her favourite hobby is collecting stamps. |
| वह बिना जूते उतारे नदी में कूद गया। | He jumped into the river without taking off his shoes. |
