Direct-Indirect Speech - W-Family Interrogative Sentences
W-परिवार में शब्द शामिल हैं - What, Which, Where, When, Why, How, Who, Whom, Whose. W- परिवार के शब्दों से शुरू होने वाले प्रश्नों को W- परिवार के प्रश्न कहा जाता है। W-परिवार के प्रश्न तब किए जाते हैं जब प्रश्नकर्ता कुछ जानकारी चाहता है।
The W-family includes the word - What, Which, Where, When, Why, How, Who, Whom, Whose. Questions that begin with W-family words are called W-family type questions. Questions of W-family are framed when the questioner wants some information.
Rule No. 1
W-Family पश्नवाचक वाक्यो में Comma (,) और Inverted Commas ("...") को हटा कर दोनों भागो को जोड़ने के लिये कोई भी Conjunction शब्द नही लगाया जाता है। W-Family का शब्द ही वाक्य के दोनों भागो को जोड़ने का कार्य करता है।
इस नियम के अलावा, सभी साधारण इंटररोगेटिव सेंटेंस के नियम W- परिवार के इंटरेक्टिव सेंटेंस के वाक्यों पर भी लागू होते हैं।
In W-Family Interrogative sentences, Comma (,) and Inverted Commas ("...") are removed, and no Conjunction word is used to join both the parts. The word of W-Family does the work to join both parts of the sentence.
Apart from this rule, all the Rules of Simple Interrogative Sentences apply to the sentences of W-family Interrogative Sentences also.

| बॉस ने अपनी PA से कहा, "आज तुम उदास क्यों हो ?" | Boss said to his PA, "Why are you sad today?" | Boss asked his PA why she was sad that day. | बॉस ने अपनी PA से पूछा कि क्यों वह उस दिन उदास थी । |
| साक्षात्कार-कर्ता ने उम्मीदवार से कहा, "तुम्हारी योग्यतायें क्या है ?" | Interviewer said to the candidate, "What are your qualifications?" | Interviewer asked the candidate what were his qualifications. | साक्षात्कार-कर्ता ने उम्मीदवार से पूछा कि क्या उसकी योग्यतायें थी । |
| जज ने श्वेता से कहा, "तुमने अपने नौकर को क्यों मारा ?" | The judge said to Shweta, "Why did you beat your servant?" | The judge asked Shweta why she had beaten her servant. | जज ने श्वेता से पूछा की क्यों उसने अपने नौकर को मारा था । |
| अध्यापक ने मोनिटर से कहा, "तुम्हारा आदेश कौन नही मान रहा था ?" | The teacher said to the Monitor, "Who was not obeying your orders?" | The teacher asked the Monitor who had not been obeying his orders. | अध्यापक ने मोनिटर से पूछा की कौन उसका आदेश नही मान रहा था । |
| अरविन्द ने मुझसे कहा, "तुम अपने आप को नवयुवाओं से क्यों तुलना करते हो ?" | Arvind said to me, "Why do you compare yourself with the youngsters?" | Arvind asked me why I compared myself with the youngsters. | अरविन्द ने मुझसे पूछा की क्यों मैने नवयुवाओं से अपने आपकी तुलना की । |
