Past Indefinite Tense -Interrogative And Interrogative-Negative की हिन्दी में पहचान: वाक्य के अन्त में 'आया', 'गया', 'लिया', 'दिया', 'चुका', 'चुकी', 'ली' 'दी', 'की', आदि का प्रयोग होता है। कोई कार्य या क्रिया जो आमतौर पर कुछ समय पहले ही या भूतकाल में किसी निश्चित समय पर पूरी हुई हो या घटित हुई हो, पास्ट इन्डेफिनेट टेन्स के अन्तर्गत आती है।
प्रश्नात्मक वाक्य - 'Did' से स्टार्ट होता है। प्रश्नात्मक-नकारात्मक वाक्य भी 'Did' से आरम्भ होता है और प्रश्नात्मक-नकारात्मक वाक्य में शुरू में 'क्या' के साथ वाक्य में 'नही' का प्रयोग भी आवश्यक है। दोनो प्रकार के वाक्यों वर्ब की दूसरी फॉर्म के बजाय फर्स्ट फॉर्म का इस्तेमाल होता है और वाक्य के अन्त में प्रश्नवाचक चिन्ह (?) लगाया जाता है।

Past Indefinite Tense is used to express an action that has been completed or occurred usually at some time ago or at a particular time in the past.
Interrogative and Negative sentence - starts with 'Did'. Interrogative & Negative sentence - starts with 'Did' and 'Not' is added just before the verb (Ist form). In both type of sentences, Ist form of verb is used instead of 2nd form of Verb and Question Mark (?) is affixed at the end of sentence in place of Full Stop.

Rule of Past Indefinite Tense -Interrogative And Interrogative-Negative

Interrogative-Negative	Did + Subject + Not + Verb (Ist form) + Object + (?)

Look at these sentences:

क्या तुमने मेरा पेन अंकिता को दिया?	Did you give my pen to Ankita?
क्या तुमने वाद-विवाद में भाग नही लिया।	Did you not take part in the debate?
क्या तुमने गलती नही की?	Did you not make a mistake? / Didn't you make a mistake?
क्या तुमने मुझे याद किया?	Did you remember me?
क्या उसने इस बारे में प्रिन्सिपल को शिकायत की?	Did he complain about it to the Principal?
क्या प्रिंसिपल ने मधुर से कुछ कहा?	Did the Principal say anything to Madhur?
क्या आपको फिल्म में मजा आया?	Did you enjoy the movie?
क्या तुमने उसे गाली नही दी?	Did you not abuse him?
क्या वे कल समारोह में हाज़िर हुए?	Did they attend the function yesterday?
क्या तुमने अखबार में उसके बारे में कोई कहानी पढ़ी?	Did you read any story about him in the newspaper?
क्या तुम्हारे पिताजी तुम्हारे कार्यालय में आए?	Did your father come to your office?
क्या उसने अपनी ट्रान्स्फर के बारे में अपनी माँ को नहीं बताया?	Didn't she tell her mother about her transfer?
क्या उसने कुछ कहना चाहा?	Did she want to say something?
क्या देवा ने दुबई में व्यापारी को मारा?	Did Deva kill the businessman in Dubai?

Use of 'Did' in Positive Sentence

किसी बात पर जोर देने के लिये भी 'Did' का प्रयोग होता है। 'Did' के साथ वर्ब की फर्स्ट फ़ॉर्म का प्रयोग होता है।

'Did' is also used to emphasise something in Past Indefinite Tense. We always use 1st form of the verb with 'Did'.

Look at these sentences:

Sentence	वाक्य
He did learn his lesson daily.	उसने प्रतिदिन अपना पाठ अवश्य याद किया।
She did know Ankit.	वह अंकित को अवश्य जानती थी।
I did consult my brother on this topic.	मैंने इस टापिक पर मेरे भाई से अवश्य परामर्श किया।
