Now we have come to Vowel 'O', which also like the rest of the vowels has long and short sounds. One of the most important things that beginners neglect is not giving proper weightage to the difference in long and short vowel sounds, as a result, though they are speaking the correct words; still the words end up sounding different. We can hit the bull's eye and avoid any confusion by following the golden rule of " Practice makes the man perfect." So Listen and repeat the words aloud to pick up the correct pronunciations of words.

In English 'Vowel o' has different pronunciation - o, and short o.

स्वर 'o' का 'ओ 'उच्चारण वाले शब्द - Long Vowel sound of 'o'

चलो 'o' की लंबी स्वर ध्वनि को समझने के लिए निम्नलिखित नियमों का संदर्भ लें।
रूल न. 6 :- जब किसी शब्द में दो या दो से अधिक vowel हो और शब्द के अंत में vowel 'e' हो तब अंतिम vowel 'e' silent रहता है और Vowel 'e' से पहले आए व्यंजन से पहले वाले Vowel का उच्चारण लम्बा होता है। अंतिम Vowel 'e' से पहले आए व्यंजन से पहले वाला स्वर यदि 'o' है तो उच्चारण 'ओ' होता है। 

Let's refer back to the following rules to understand the long Vowel sound of 'O' :-
Rule no. 6. :- When a word has two or more vowel and vowel 'e' at the end of the word, the last vowel 'e' remains silent, and the pronunciation of vowel preceding the consonant preceding vowel 'e' is long. If the vowel preceding the last Vowel 'e' is 'o', the pronunciation is 'o'.

रूल न. 5 :-जब किसी शब्द में एक ही स्वर (Vowel) होता है और यह शब्द के अंत में आता है, तो उस Vowel का उच्चारण लंबा होता है।

रूल न. 1 का अपवाद :- रूल न. 1 बताता है कि यदि शब्द में केवल एक Vowel है और यह शब्द के शुरुआत में या मध्य में रखा गया है , उसका उच्चारण शॉर्ट होता है। इस नियम का अपवाद यह है कि यदि व्यंजन 'ld' स्वर 'o' के बाद आते हैं तो 'o' का उच्चारण long होगा।

Refer Rule no. 5:- When a word has a single Vowel, and it comes at the end of the word, then the pronunciation of that Vowel is long. In this case, a word ending with 'o' will have a long sound.

Exception to Rule No. 1:- Rule No. 1 states that if there is a single vowel and it is placed in the beginning or middle of a word, then it has a short vowel sound.
The exception to the rule is, that if consonants 'ld' come after vowel 'o' then it will have a long sound.
