Causative Verb: 'Get' in Passive Voice

Rule : Subject + Get + Object/Thing + Verb (3rd form) + (By Person).

Let's look at the examples:

उच्च अधिकारिओं ने अपना कमरा बदलवाया। Senior officials got their room changed.
आओ अपनी कार मैदान में खड़ी करवांये। Let’s get our car parked on the ground.
मैंने मेरी कार एयर कंड़ीशनर की सर्विस रविवार को करवाई। I got my car air-conditioner serviced on Sunday.
उसने उसे यूनियन प्रतिनिधि के पद से हटवाया। She got him fired from the post of Union representative.
मैंने अपनी छुट्टी आज मंजूर करवाई। I got my leave sanctioned today.
वह अपनी बदली बहुत जल्दी निरस्त करवा लेगी। She will get her transfer cancelled very soon.
उसकी समयनिष्ठा ने उसे बारंबार प्रशंसा पत्र दिलवाए। Her punctuality got her an appreciation letter repeatedly.
हमने जमीन का मूल्याँकन सरकारी मूल्याँकन-कर्ता से करवाया। We got the land valued from a Government valuer.
जमीन पर गिरने पर सीमा ने सभी कागजात मिश्रित कर दिए। Seema got all the papers mixed up when they fell on the ground.
तुम अपना घर मेरे नौकर से साफ करवाओ। You get your house cleaned by my servant.
मैंने रात को लाइटें चालू छोड़ दी और सुबह कार चालू नही कर पाया। I left the lights on overnight and in the morning could not get the car started.

Causative Verbs : Get vs Have

Causative Verbs ’Get’ और ‘Have’ दोनो का उपयोग किसी से काम लेने के लिए किया जाता है। अर्थ समान दिखता है; हालाँकि, उनके अर्थ में मामूली अंतर है। निम्नलिखित तालिका पर नजर डालते हैं:

Causative Verbs ‘Get’ and ‘Have’ are both used to get the work done from someone. The meaning looks similar; however, there is a slight difference in their meaning. Let’s look at the following table:

'Have' का अर्थ है जिम्मेदारी सौंपकर या किसी को निर्देश देकर कार्य करवाना। 'Get' का अर्थ है किसी को प्रोत्साहित कर या राज़ी कर कार्य करवाना।

The meaning of ‘Have’ implies getting work done by assigning responsibility or giving instructions to someone. The meaning of ‘Get’ implies getting work done by encouraging or convincing someone.

Let's look at the following example to understand the subtle difference:-

श्री भाटिया ने एक पेशेवर गायक से अपनी बेटियों की शादी में गवाया।
(वाक्य का तात्पर्य है कि एक पेशेवर गायक को उनकी शादी में प्रदर्शन करने के लिए कहा गया था)।
Mr Bhatia had a professional singer perform at their daughter's wedding.
(The sentence implies that a professional singer was asked to perform at their wedding)
श्री भाटिया ने एक पेशेवर गायक से उनकी बेटियों की शादी में गाने को बुलवाया।
(वाक्य का तात्पर्य है कि एक प्रोफेसरियल गायक से अपनी शादी में प्रदर्शन करने के लिए राज़ी कराया)
Mr Bhatia got a professional singer to perform at their daughter's wedding.
(the sentence implies that a professional singer was convinced to perform at their wedding)
