Conjunctions - समुच्चयबोधक - An Overview
हिन्दी में Conjunctions का अर्थ है युति / योग / जोड़। Conjunction एक ऐसा शब्द है जो दो शब्दों, दो उपवाक्यों या दो वाक्यों को जोड़ता है। इसलिए इसे Connective या Linker संयोजन भी कहते हैं।
A Conjunction is a word which joins two words, two clauses or two sentences. Hence it is also called a Connective or Linker conjunction. Let's look at the following examples:

| Samar is an intelligent student, and he is a Gold Medalist. | समर एक बुद्धिमान छात्र है और वह एक स्वर्ण पदक विजेता है। |
| Karan is a Gold Medalist. Karan is unemployed today. | करन गोल्ड मेडलीस्ट है। करन आज बेरोज़गार है। |
| Karan is a Gold Medalist, but he is unemployed today. | करन गोल्ड मेडलीस्ट है लेकिन वह आज बेरोज़गार है। |
| Karan was worried. Karan did not show it. | करन चिंतित था। करण ने इसे नहीं दर्शाया। |
| Karan was worried, yet he did not show it. | करण चिंतित था फिर भी उसने नही दर्शाया। |
उपर्युक्त उदाहरणों में हाइलाइट किए गए शब्द (and, but & yet) संयोजन शब्द हैं।
The highlighted words in the above examples (and, but & yet) are conjunction words.

Coordinating Conjunctions
Coordinating conjunction का उपयोग दो स्वतंत्र वाक्यों को संयोजित करने के लिए किया जाता है जो अलग से पूर्ण अर्थ व्यक्त कर सकते हैं।
Coordinating conjunctions are used to combine two independent sentences that can express absolute meaning separately.

Examples
| He has applied for a job; therefore, he has joined a coaching class. | उसने नौकरी के लिए आवेदन किया है, इसलिए वह एक कोचिंग क्लास में शामिल हो गया है। |
| I requested him, but he did not give his pen. | मैंने उससे अनुरोध किया परंतु उसने अपना पेन नही दिया। |
| Everyone has taken their dinner; hence they are going to sleep. | सभी ने अपना डिनर ले लिया इसलिए वे सोने जा रहे हैं। |
| He has either purchased a shirt or a trouser. | उसने या तो शर्ट खरीदी है या पेन्ट। |
| Do not talk on mobile while you are driving. | मोबाइल पर बात न करें जबकि आप गाड़ी चला रहे हैं। |
| He is hungry, so he is crying. | वह भूखा है इसलिए वह रो रहा है। |
