Pronunciation of Joint Vowels
हम संयुक्त स्वरों पर कुछ प्रकाश डाल रहे हैं। कभी-कभी हम एक शब्द में दो स्वर और उनकी संयुक्त ध्वनियों एक साथ देखते हैं। प्रधान स्वर पर बल देने के लिए स्वर को एक और स्वर से सहायता की आवश्यकता होती है ताकि इसे long या short ध्वनि मिल सके। ऐसे संयोजनों का उदाहरण संयुक्त स्वर जैसे - 'ai, ea, ee, oo, ou'. हैं।
We are throwing some light on the combined vowels. Sometimes we find a word depending on two vowel and their sounds together. To emphasize the prime vowel, the vowel needs assistance from another vowel to make it sound long or short. Example of such combinations is joint vowels like - 'ai, ea, ee, oo, ou'.

आइए यह समझने के लिए नियम नंबर 7 का फिर से संदर्भ लें। जब किसी शब्द में दो Vowel - संयुक्त स्वर एक साथ हो तब पहले Vowel का उच्चारण long होता है और दूसरा Vowel silent रहता है। संयुक्त स्वर 'ea' के बाद जब व्यंजन 'R' के अतिरिक्त कोई और व्यंजन आता है तो आता है तो 'ea' का उच्चारण 'बडी ई ' होता है।
To understand this let's refer to Rule no.7 again.-
When two vowels are together in a word, then the first Vowel has a long sound and the second Vowel remains silent.
When any consonant other than 'R' comes after joint vowel 'ea', then joint vowel 'ea' has a long sound of 'e'.

हमें ध्यान रखना होगा कि नियमों का कोई भी संग्रह अँग्रेज़ी स्वर प्रणाली को पूरी तरह नही समझा सकता है। इसके लिए रोज नियमित रूचि के अभ्यास और अवलोकन आवश्यकता होती है। हमें हमारी आवाज़ों को लंबी और छोटी आवाज़ों की कला को सीखने के लिए स्वर साधना होगा। शब्द को बोलते वक्त हमारे मुंह के आकार, होंठ और जीभ को नोट करने की आदत बनाएँ।
We have to keep in mind that no set of rules can result in the understanding of the English vowel system entirely. It requires a daily dose of practice mixed with the flavour of interest and observation. We have to learn to modulate our voices and master the art of long and short sounds. Make a habit of noticing the shape our mouth, lips and tongue take while spelling out a word.
