Degree Formation Rules

कुछ सरल वर्तनी नियम हैं जो हमें यह तय करने में मदद करते हैं कि विशेषण शब्द की वर्तनी में प्रत्यय जोड़ते समय परिवर्तन की आवश्यकता है या नहीं।

There are some simple spelling rules that help us decide whether a change is needed when adding a suffix to the spelling of an adjective word. We will learn the Rules of:

1 Adjective with single syllable
2 Irregular Adjectives
3 Adjectives with two or more syllables

Rules - Adjectives with single syllable:

आमतौर पर, जब विशेषण में केवल एक शब्दांश होता है तो हम Comparative Degree बनाने के लिए 'r/er' और Superlative Degree बनाने के लिए 'st/est' जोड़ते हैं।

Usually, when an adjective has only one syllable, we add 'r/er' to make Comparative Degree and 'st/est' to make Superlative Degree.

Rule 1

जब पॉजिटिव विशेषण के अंत में 'e' आता है, तो इसे Comparative बनाने के लिए केवल 'r' जोड़ें और Superlative बनाने के लिए केवल 'st' जोड़ें ।

When 'e' comes at the end of Positive Adjective, add only 'r' to make it Comparative and only 'st' to make Superlative.

Look at the following examples:

Positive form Comparative form Superlative form
Able Abler Ablest
Fine Finer Finest
Nice Nicer Nicest
Noble Nobler Noblest
Simple Simpler Simplest
Wise Wiser Wisest
