Uses of 'The'
Look at the following to understand the use of Article - 'The'
| 10 | हम बड़े पदों से पहले 'The' का उपयोग करते हैं। | We use 'The' before big posts. |
| Examples: The President, The Prime Minister, The Director, etc. | ||
| 11 | हम 'The' का इस्तेमाल (evening, morning, afternoon) शब्दों से पहले करते हैं। हम इन शब्दों से पहले 'The' का उपयोग नहीं करते हैं यदि इनसे पहले (last, next or every) शब्द आ जाए। | We use 'The' before the words (evening, morning, afternoon). We do not use 'The' before these words if the word (last, next or every) comes before them. |
| Examples: In the evening, in the morning, last evening, every morning. | ||
| 12 | हम Superlative Degree से पहले 'The' का उपयोग करते हैं | We use 'The' before Superlative Degree |
| Examples: The greatest, the most, the fastest, the best, etc. | ||
| 13 | हम तुलनात्मक डिग्री से पहले 'The' का उपयोग करते हैं (यदि 'than' का उपयोग नहीं किया गया है) | We use 'The' before Comparative Degree (if 'than' is not used before it) |
| Examples: She is the wiser of the two. She is wiser than Suman. The older he grew, the worse he became. | ||
| 14 | हम आम संज्ञा से पहले 'The' का उपयोग करते हैं जो पहले ही उल्लेख किया जा चुका है या जो पहले से ही ज्ञात है। | We use 'The' before the Common noun which has already been mentioned or which is already known. |
| Examples: There was a fox. The fox was hungry. I know the man who came here last night. | ||
| 15 | हम बहुवचन बनाने के लिए Proper Noun से पहले 'The' का उपयोग करते हैं। | We use 'The' before Proper noun for making it plural. |
| Examples: The Guptas, The Greens, the Sharmas | ||
| 16 | हम उस Adjective से पहले 'The' का उपयोग करते हैं जो संज्ञा के रूप में प्रयुक्त होती है। | We use 'The' before the Adjectives which are used as a noun. |
| Examples: The rich, the brave, the poor. | ||
| 17 | हम तारीखों से पहले 'The' का उपयोग करते हैं। | We use 'The' before the dates |
| Examples: Today is the 3rd of December. | ||
| 18 | हम 'The' का उपयोग 'All और Both' के बाद तथा 'Whole और Same' से पहले करते हैं। | We use 'The' after words 'All & Both' and before words 'Whole & Same') |
| Examples: All the boys, Both the girls, The whole class, The same shirt. | ||
