Articles - A, An, The

Articles दो प्रकार के होते हैं:
1. Indefinite = A और An - निश्चित वास्तु या स्थान की ओर संकेत नही करते।
2. Definite = The - किसी निश्चित वास्तु या स्थान की ओर संकेत करता है।

A / An

सिंगुलर में common noun के साथ 'A / An' का प्रयोग आवश्यक है।

जब किसी शब्द के बोलने में आपके मुँह से स्वर ध्वनि अ, आ, इ, ई, उ, ऊ, ए, ऐ, ओ, औ आदि निकले तो ऐसे शब्दों के आगे 'An' का प्रयोग करते हैं और बाकी सब के साथ 'A' का प्रयोग करते हैं।
An owl, an egg, an honest boy, an M.A., an old lady, etc.
A one rupee note, a bag, a university, a hen, a parrot, etc.

The

'The' का प्रयोग हम करते हैं:

1. प्राकृतिक चीज़ों से पहले -
The sun, the sky, the earth

2. दिशाओं से पहले -
The sun rises in the east. East or west, home is the best.
पहले वाक्य में preposition 'in' आया है इसलिए आर्टिकल 'the' का प्रयोग हुआ है. दूसरे वाक्य में preposition नही है तो आर्टिकल भी नही है.

3. नदियों, समुन्द्रो, महासागरों, पहाड़ों, झीलों, नहरों, बांधों, ट्रेनों, जहाज़ों, मरुस्थलों के नाम से पहले -
The Vikrant, the Frontier mail, the Himalayas, the Bhakhra dam, the Sahaa desert, the Dal lake, the Arabian sea, the Indian ocean, etc.
